Alan MacDiarmid
For the 2007 Nobel Laureates Legends Reception we added the late Nobel Laureate Dr. Alan G. MacDiarmid (Chemistry, 2000) who died February 7, 2007, of complications from leukemia. Respected and beloved by his colleagues, his sudden passing was received with "the gravest of heart."

Born in April, 1927, Dr. MacDiarmid held the James Von Ehr Distinguished Chair in Science and Technology at the University of Texas at Dallas, and carried on the work of Rick Smalley in finding energy solutions through nanotechnology by hosting the Energy Summit at nanotx’06
